CDN Live Streaming

Run live streams via CDN: ingest over RTMP/SRT, deliver to viewers over HLS/LL-HLS, and restream to external platforms in parallel.

What is streaming in CDN?

Streaming in Serverspace is transport and delivery for live video. You send your video stream to the network once (ingest), and then deliver it to viewers via delivery protocols (HLS/LL-HLS), with the option to restream to other platforms in parallel.

Key idea: we’re not a video platform — we’re a delivery network, with no forced players, watermarks, or “platform rules”.

How does CDN streaming work?

One ingest → delivery to viewers via CDN + optional restreaming to other platforms.

1

Send your stream

Connect via RTMP/SRT using OBS, FFmpeg, or any professional encoder.

2

Choose the mode

Select between direct delivery or multi-restream to multiple platforms.

3

Get your URLs

Ready-to-use HLS/LL-HLS links for ultra-low-latency integration.

4

Integrate easily

Use your own player and access logic. The CDN delivers globally.

5

Optional multi-output

Restream to multiple platforms or build automatic redundancy.

6

Monitor in real time

Track live metrics, stream quality, and connected viewers.

Supported protocols and codecs

Ingest over RTMP/SRT and deliver to viewers over HLS/LL-HLS with support for H.264 and AAC/Opus.

Streaming CDN pricing

Pricing depends on traffic volume (how much data you deliver to viewers). The more you deliver within a billing period, the lower the price per 1 GB.

Volume Quantity Cost
Up to 500 GB 1 GB €0,011
From 500 GB to 5 TB 1 GB €0,009
From 5 to 10 TB 1 GB €0,008
More than 10 TB 1 GB €0,006

Who is it for?

Who needs CDN streaming — and why?

Media / broadcasters / news

Why: ingest live video “from the field” and deliver it to your website/app + partners.

  • A reporter/operator sends the stream via OBS/mobile encoder → RTMP/SRT ingest.
  • The stream is received in Serverspace as a single entry point.
  • Delivery to viewers on your website/app → HLS/LL-HLS.
  • At the same time, restreaming is enabled to partner channels and/or a backup route.
  • Peak load is handled by the CDN — no “extra hardware for the big moment”.

Sports and events

Why: one stream → multiple viewing endpoints + a backup in case the platform fails.

  • An on-site camera/encoder sends the stream → RTMP/SRT.
  • Serverspace ingests the stream once and prepares it for viewer delivery.
  • Main playback on your website/landing page → HLS/LL-HLS.
  • Additionally, enable multi-output to external platforms for broader reach.
  • If a platform “goes down/gets cut off/bans you” — the stream remains available on your domain.

Corporate broadcasts and training

Why: your own delivery pipeline and access control without relying on webinar platforms.

  • A speaker/studio sends the stream → RTMP/SRT.
  • Serverspace delivers it to employees → HLS/LL-HLS.
  • You manage access (SSO/registration/permissions) on your side (portal/LMS).
  • If needed — different links/streams for branches and regions.
  • The CDN offloads the corporate network during mass viewing.

IoT / drones / video monitoring

Why: stable video transport over unreliable networks and fast delivery to the operator.

  • A camera/drone/robot sends the stream via SRT (resilient to packet loss/jitter).
  • Serverspace ingests the stream and provides the delivery transport layer.
  • The operator/situation room watches through your interface → LL-HLS/HLS.
  • Parallel distribution to multiple stations/locations via the CDN.
  • Storage, analytics, and access permissions — handled in your VMS/SCADA/portal.

E-commerce and brands

Why: handle traffic spikes and avoid dependence on platform rules or takedown risks.

  • A studio/host sends the stream → RTMP/SRT.
  • The main broadcast runs on your landing page/app → HLS/LL-HLS.
  • The UX and conversion elements (catalog/cart/forms) are fully under your control.
  • In parallel, you can enable restreaming to social networks to expand reach.
  • If platforms restrict/remove the broadcast — the main channel on your domain stays live.

FAQ

What is Serverspace CDN streaming?

It’s live video ingest and delivery: you send the stream once (ingest), and the CDN distributes it to viewers. The player and playback rules stay on your side.

Which protocols does live streaming support (RTMP, SRT, HLS, LL-HLS)?

For ingest, RTMP and SRT are available. For playback, HLS and LL-HLS. Typical codecs are H.264 (video) and AAC/Opus (audio).

Can I set up restreaming (multi-output) to other platforms?

Yes. Restreaming lets you deliver the stream in parallel to your website/app via the CDN and forward it to external platforms/channels.

What affects low latency, and what’s the typical latency for LL-HLS and SRT?

Low latency depends on the network, encoder settings (GOP), segment size, player, and buffering. Typical values: SRT ~1–2 s, LL-HLS ~2–5 s in Europe; cross-continent delivery can be up to ~12 s with recommended settings.

Streaming with Serverspace — freedom from platform limitations

Serverspace delivers low-latency live video without locking you into specific platforms, players, or monetization models — so you keep full control over your broadcast.
