What is NAT?
Network Address Translation (NAT) is the procedure for replacing IP addresses and ports in the header of IP packets. Most often, NAT is used to change an IP address and port on an internal network to an external IP address and port of a gateway.
The mechanism hides private network addresses from external users and provides confidentiality and additional security for data within the network.
What is Firewall?
A firewall allows you to manage access to servers and isolated networks, incoming and outgoing data packets directly from the control panel.
A Firewall acts like a wall that restricts Internet traffic inside or outside a private network. A firewall controls Internet activity and allows or denies access to devices.
How Nat and Firewall are charged in Serverspace?
Nat and Firewall are not charged separately and their cost is included in the gateway price. The gateway price depends on the data center location and bandwidth you choose. It starts from 1.3 € per month.

How to deploy Edge Gateways?
To deploy Edge Gateway and configure NAT and Firewall rules in the Control Panel, you should:
- Select a Data Center and the desired channel bandwidth;
- Select the isolated networks you want to connect;
- In the created gateway add NAT / Firewall rules and fill in all fields.

How to configure NAT for a gateway in Serverspace control panel?
To configure NAT in Serverspace control panel open a NAT tab in gateway detail and click the Add button.
You can create three types of rules: SNAT, DNAT, and BINAT. When creating a rule, select the required type in the drop-down list and fill in the following fields:
How to configure a gateway Firewall in Serverspace control panel?
To configure gateway Firewall in Serverspace control panel open Firewall section in the gateway settings. To create a rule, click the Add button. You will see a window for adding a rule where the following fields must be filled in:
- Source port/Destination port
After adding the rule, click Add. The created rule will take effect after you save the changes using the Save button.
