Serverspace 2024 - Year in Review
As 2025 gains momentum, we are already prepared for its new challenges. The Serverspace team continues to improve our services, and now is the perfect time to reflect on the significant milestones of 2024 - new services and data centers, expanding local offices, collaboration with an international GameDev project, and more. Here are the key events of the past year.
New Services - Unique Opportunities
Last year, we introduced several important services: GPT access via API, VoD, and GPU cloud servers.
Access to LLM through API allows customers to quickly and efficiently integrate artificial intelligence into their applications for automating business processes. From chatbots and instant text translation to generating creative content - AI technologies are opening new horizons, significantly boosting productivity and enhancing user experience.
We also enhanced our CDN capabilities specifically for video content. In today’s competitive landscape, fast video loading is crucial for business success. To help our users meet these standards, we launched the Video on Demand (VoD) service, providing instant video delivery at high speeds. User-uploaded video files are distributed via a global server network, always ensuring the shortest distance to the user.
Infrastructure Expansion: Closer Access Than Ever
In 2024, we added two new locations for deploying virtual servers: Brazil (São Paulo) and UAE (Dubai).
The SP3 Equinix data center in São Paulo is a leading data center in Brazil, certified to Tier III standards by Uptime Institute, with full operational sustainability certification. The SP3 facility hosts vStack SL201-25RE servers equipped with advanced 16-core Intel Xeon Gold 6226R processors.
Another new data center is Equinix DX1 in Dubai, designed according to Tier III standards, with certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and PCI DSS. The DX1 cluster features vStack-R-SL201-25RE servers powered by 16-core Intel Xeon Gold CPUs at a base frequency of 3.0 GHz.
Access to data centers in Brazil and the UAE allows Serverspace users to quickly enter South American and Middle Eastern markets, ensuring minimal latency, compliance with local data laws, and access to cutting-edge equipment for maximum performance.
Serverspace Clouds Across All Continents
The past year saw significant progress in the international expansion of our project. Serverspace launched local offices in three countries: Brazil, Canada, and the UAE. These regions are rapidly developing in the IT sector, with strong demand for cloud technologies and digital solutions.
Brazilian users can access the website at serverspace.com.br, while Canadian clients can visit serverspace.ca. Particularly noteworthy is the launch of falconcloud.ae in the UAE - operating on Serverspace technologies. Each project offers a full range of cloud services, from virtual servers to development tools, all meeting Serverspace’s high standards. Local data centers provide minimal latency and high reliability for businesses in these regions. All sites also offer free control panels in English and Spanish, local currency payments, and 24/7 technical support.
New Operating System: Rocky Linux
This year, we also added support for the new operating system, Rocky Linux. Rocky Linux is an open-source and stable OS, created as a replacement for CentOS after changes to its support model.
Key benefits of the new OS include:
- Reliability and Stability: Rocky Linux provides long-term support and stable updates, making it ideal for enterprise environments.
- Compatibility: Fully compatible with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), allowing easy migration of existing projects without changes to infrastructure.
- Community and Openness: Managed by the community, ensuring transparency and no commercial restrictions - valuable for businesses.
Serverspace X Sumo Tatami
In 2024, we began collaborating with the international GameDev project Sumo Tatami. The game developers used the Serverspace platform to host their server infrastructure. Virtual servers from Serverspace helped Sumo Tatami handle peak loads, ensure minimal latency, and deliver an engaging gaming experience without disruptions. The flexible infrastructure also allowed the project to scale and maintain a low ping amidst rapid global audience growth.
Plans for 2025
In the coming year, we plan to make several important steps in the development of Serverspace, including:
- Opening a new office and VPS location in Uzbekistan.
- Updating the referral program to offer better benefits for our clients and partners.
- Expanding the capabilities of VStack cloud servers, including creating backups via the control panel.
- Adding new locations for VPS hosting.
- Implementing additional OS options for servers.
- Launching new services and features.
We will continue to improve our services, increase the stability and performance of all our solutions. Stay updated with our changelog, newsletters, Instagram, X and LinkedIn - exciting things are ahead!
